The Digital Portfolio
About
Human beings are born into this cruel world with predetermined circumstances, through which we gradually develop our subjectivity and identity along disparate life trajectories, thereby growing up as unique individuals. Given the various racial, gender and social background, lived experiences are differentiated.
Fully aware of the abiding role of visual in anthropology,
I decided to create this website, encapsulated with my visual work,
to amplify the voices of my interlocutors.
In this visual project, my aim is to capture the moments of confusion, euphoria, devastation, freedom, fury, resistance and hope.
CONTENT
This website is divided into four main sections.

What is the new scenario and narrative of the colonial history in RMFCA?

Emotions, Collective Identity and Signs?

Embrace and cherish the diversity

Stories unfold visually here.
A non-fictional project, examining the decolonization practices of diasporic tour guide in Royal Museum for Central Africa,
this research wishes to:
-
Explore the new mode of knowledge production process in contemporary museum by showing the interaction process between Official Tour Guides and Visitors.
-
Re-position Museum’s future public role and goals in contemporary time by exemplifying practices from RMFCA.

A visual project, called Identity On The Move, that showcases my research on how collective identity is shaped in social movements. I hope to show visually how emotions, individual and collective identities are connected, and to highlight the importance of materiality (the banners in the marches).

This section focuses on my experiences all around the world, especially in 40 countries over the past decade, endeavoring to show the myriad human culture through still photos.

Welcome to
This section features nine explorations of visual ethnography of mine over the past few years, such as my reflections on the human/non-human relationship at an NGO in Brussels that aims to reduce food waste.
POSITIONALITY
Being queer is my constant fight.
I believe that anthropological study is the way to scrutinize and remedy my issues. Ethnography, for me, is a dynamic way of being and healing in the ongoing world. Since 2015, I have developed a long dedication for working with marginalized groups.
My reflexive and ontological epistemological refers to multiple realities of the social world. Within researches, I always consider myself both an insider and outsider, emphasizing belonging to the marginalized group and generating neutral knowledge.
I hope this website could serve as the witness of the reckless, bold and turbulent golden age, for me and my hopeful peers.
Thank you for always being here :)
Let visuals speak .
